Cor checks in with his contribution.....Batman & Robin!

You can check out the man who more than gives Jared a run for the Man-Pretty title HERE. (Sorry, ladies, he's taken. ) And we've also got his self portrait, and some shots of the work in progress....

With our fingers crossed that the postal strike in the UK doesn't hurt us, the book is off to England!

Guido Gets Some Help......

For the past couple of weeks our book found a home in the beautiful town of the hands of our very own Guido de Bue. Guido made his contribution with this great self portrait:

For Guido's art assignment, he enlisted the help of professional Dutch artists Romano Molenaar & Yorg de Vos! Romano & Yorg were visiting the store that Guido manages in Breda, promoting their new book STORM (a famous Dutch Sci-Fi series).

Romano decided to keep with one of our themes for the book, and produced this wonderful self-portrait:

Yorg was up next, and as a fan of the European Western Strip "Blueberry", went with a gunslinger:

The book has been handed off to Cor.....and he's hard at work. Stay tuned!

It's Lauren's Turn.....

Feeling a bit intimidated about drawing (and who wouldn't after seeing Kelly's?), our lovely and talented resident photographer, Lauren O'Keefe, decided to push the limits of our 'mixed media' guideline and used this absolutely beautiful photograph as her contribution to the book.

A wonderful addition to the book, and a perfect representation of Lauren's passion and talent. And as an added bonus, she didn't shy away from the pencil completely.....check out the self portrait!

After some clicking, cropping, pasting and wrapping, our book is off to The Netherlands!

Luckily, the mighty sketchbook arrived just in time! Silly robots, nothing can stop the sketchbook!

Kelly kicks us off in style!

The inaugural piece in the book is finished! And we're underway.....

The bar has been set wonderfully high with this little masterpiece by Ex-Clown Boy! Here are a couple of pics of Kelly's sketch table:

Up next......with a mighty toss across the ocean, our book lands in Australia.

Hey, Lauren, comin' atcha!

It Begins.....

The book is here!

Kicking us off is the immensely talented creator of "Archie Snow" - writer, artist and former clown, Mr. Kelly Tindall. You can visit Kelly's Official Website at

In breaking news out of Calgary......after surviving a horrific sketchbook attack, Kelly plans to begin work in the book tonight!

Welcome to the official home of the Tim Sale Travel Sketchbook Project!

What it is: A group of friends and fellow Tim Sale board members have gotten together and decided to create a community sketchbook. Each participant will draw their piece in the book, and then pass it on to the next artist. Once everyone has completed their drawing, the book will go to Tim to add the final piece. We will then gather in Baltimore in 2008, and Tim will put the final touches on the book by finishing the cover.

This idea was born on Tim's official message board while discussing the incredibly brilliant (and wonderfully bold) endeavor know as SketchTravel. Please check out to see why we were so inspired.

This blog will be updated with information, photos, rough sketches and the final drawings as each artist finishes.

Please feel free to drop in on us and say hello at Tim's official site:
